yes, i may just have married the most amazing man ever, it's true. the boy even set up the computer for me the night before while i was sleeping, thinking i would randomly go in the computer room while he was at school and be overjoyed. but to his dismay i never went into the room. even after he called at lunchtime to see if i would check something on the laptop upstairs i responded with, "cam, it's not going to work on that computer. just do it at school before you head home." yeah, i'm an idiot. it took him coming home at the end of the day and telling me to come upstairs. he handed me a new shower head as a present (ours is awful so i was super excited). as i was going on and on about how great my showers are now going to be he stood in the computer room trying to lure me in and started smiling. i FINALLY looked out of the corner of my eye and there it was! like it had been ALL DAY! do i have the best husband or do i have the best husband? i know.

and if the computer wasn't enough, cameron had arranged my parents to babysit landon that night so he could take me out to a nice dinner. i had spoiled his little surprise earlier in the week when i read his weekly email to mitchell (don't think i'm a psycho keeping tabs on cam's email. i always read his letters to mitchell before i write mine so that i don't repeat stories.). in the email it ended "okay, well i gotta go and finish planning lauren's surprise party." i DIED when i read it. i immediately texted cam at school and apologized and told him it was spoiled. he "admitted" family was going to meet at our house when we got home from dinner to have cake. i thought that was so thoughtful and was still excited to hang out with everyone.

so, my dad got to our house as i was finishing getting ready for dinner and he talked about how excited he and my mom were to take landon to mcdonalds because they were going to the one with a play place. we left for dinner and cameron asked if i'd close my eyes so that at least the restaurant would be a surprise. he said it was something sentimental. as i'm close to carsick closing my eyes while he drove i was thinking of all the places we had been for prom and homecoming dates. mon ami gabi? embers? maybe he was even taking me out to lake las vegas where we had once shared a gondola ride?! he parks the car and tells me to keep my eyes closed while he opens my door. immediately i hear children laughing and i think, "oh crap, i'm overdressed". i open my eyes to find all of my friends and family at the park near our house. there are presents and food and cake all on the picnic tables. landon comes running up to me for a hug. jerry is manning the grill. i was shocked. cam actually surprised me. which is saying something...cause cam is awful at lying to me. but he pulled it off and it was the most perfect party.
